This course will acquaint students with the legal environment in which businesses operate. More specifically, the course will explore the differences between criminal and civil law and the various areas of business law including “white collar crime,” tort law, contract law, bankruptcy, patent, and trademark law.
This course will acquaint students with the legal environment in which businesses operate. More specifically, the course will explore the differences between criminal and civil law and the various areas of business law including “white collar crime,” tort law, contract law, bankruptcy, patent, and trademark law. Also, alternative forms of business organizations and rights of consumers will be examined. Landmark cases will be reviewed to enhance students’ understanding of the material.

Homework: Homework will include reading, watching instructional videos, and answering questions. One midterm quiz and a final exam will be given. Expect 30 to 60 minutes per week in addition to attending class and studying for tests.
